Hey all of my great followers!

I’m moving my blog! I’m not deleting this blog, but I haven’t been using my more professional, environmental blog, enough, so what I’m doing is I am creating a new personal account (it’s a secondary account from my environmental blog), and I’m following all of the same folks I was following on this account over there!

The new personal blog is going to essentially be the same as this one.

But why can’t I be a revolutionary who cooks, too?

Can we eradicate the notion that it’s impossible for feminists/womanists to enjoy doing things deemed stereotypically feminine?

Can we stop telling girls it’s not okay to enjoy cooking or make-up or fashion because femininity is to be avoided at all costs?

Can we stop policing women’s bodies and relationship choices and writing styles and hobbies?

Can we remember that there’s nothing wrong with being a woman who enjoys cooking for her partner(s) or wearing lipstick and heels to the grocery store (and there’s nothing wrong with being one who doesn’t)?

Can we critique gender essentialism without vilifying women who embrace certain elements of the “feminine” role?

Can we remember that any struggle for gender equality and the dismantling of hetero-patriarchy must inevitably include space for women to delineate exactly how we choose to express our various, entirely individual conceptions of femininity?

Feminine is not anti-feminist, and there’s nothing wrong with being a lipstick-wearing revolutionary who loves to cook.
